March 13, 2014, Nashua, NH—Leadership is a gift that can positively impact the trajectory of a young kid’s life.

For some area youth, opportunities to build a good foundation are abundant—strong family bonds, teachers in schools, coaches from athletic teams and peer interaction in youth programs all present ways to develop good character and leadership traits. For others, the opportunity may not be as readily available.

One area foundation aims to change that reality—one bowling pin at a time.

The Keegan Family Courage & Faith Foundation hosted over 150 bowlers, 30 sponsoring companies, and special guest Kendall Reyes from the San Diego Chargers at its inaugural Charity Bowl, on Wednesday, March 12th, raising more than $20,000. The foundation has partnered with the Nashua Police Athletic League (Nashua PAL) to launch a leadership academy—the Victory Academy—to teach traits & skills of leaders to 100 area boys & girls.

Shaun Nelson, Executive Director at Nashua PAL, eagerly anticipates the launch of the new initiative. “This has been an unprecedented donation of time, money and thought leadership from the Foundation and Brendan’s company, Velocity Performance. The Foundation’s Charity Bowl is one of PAL’s largest fundraising events in our history. Equally exciting is having somebody of Brendan’s caliber who has led over 25,000 people as a 4-‐Time President & CEO around the globe apply his leadership and vision to personally developing our Victory Academy.”

Brendan P. Keegan, co-‐founder of the foundation, said, “Leadership is the willingness to accept responsibility and organize a group to achieve a common goal. The Victory Academy focuses on empowering our youth to maximize their own potential and be leaders in the community. We want these kids to accept responsibility for building a better future for themselves, their families and their friends.”

That’s what the Foundation calls the Exponential Factor—creating youth programs that create a transformational ripple effect across the community. The Nashua PAL Victory Academy is one of them.

Keegan and his wife Dana built the Courage & Faith Foundation with the vision in mind to impact the lives of youth across Greater Nashua by delivering programs that inspire educational leadership, athletic competitiveness and productive living. Find out more at couragefaith.org.
